December 20, 2024 to January 19, 2025, coinciding with the 25th anniversary of Macau's return to the motherland, Hangzhou Public Library joined hands with the Macau Public Library to hold the "Celebrating the Sisterhood of Hangzhou and Macau Libraries, Commemorating the 25th Anniversary of Macau's Return to the Motherland" thematic book exhibition at the Special Collection Center on the third floor of Hangzhou Public Library.
Subsequently, the Macau Public Library will organize an exhibition in Macau centered around the documents donated by Hangzhou Public Library, creating a coupling effect between the two regions. This is not only a heartfelt review of Macau's cultural achievements over the past 25 years since its return to the motherland, but also a strong testament to the deepening cooperation and cultural prosperity between the libraries of the two regions.
This thematic book exhibition marks the first collaboration between Hangzhou Public Library and Macau Public Library since they established a friendly relationship in June 2024, with strong support from the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao Special Administrative Region Government. Both parties have always adhered to the concept of resource sharing and cultural mutual learning, aiming to help more readers gain a deep understanding of Macau, feel its prosperity and development after returning to the motherland, and enhance national pride and cultural confidence.

The exhibits for this book exhibition were carefully selected and donated by the Macau Public Library, covering a wide range of fields including history and culture, literature and art, and social sciences. They came from Macau and have taken root in Hangzhou Public Library, building a bridge for spiritual communication between readers of the two regions and promoting the mutual integration and inheritance of culture.
